How does tVNS ® work?
With tVNS® ①, light electrical stimulation ④ is given to the vagus nerve ② in the ear ③. These signals are special nerve fibers in the brain stem ⑤ before and then transmitted to the brain via the respective control centers. These stimuli cause the release of neurotransmitters from the brain and increase parasympathetic activity.
